Review: My Beauty Diary Natto Mask

My Beauty Diary masks are popular in the AB world especially among the Chinese people because it is a Taiwanese brand. It has appeared in whatever shallow, vain, superficial Taiwanese beauty programs like Nu Ren Wo Zui Da, etc. Yeah those programs are helpful but at the same time they are freaking annoying. If you have even seen some of the videos on Youtube, you would understand why. For example, the shocking transformation before and after makeup. The hosts' reactions are terrible. They are so ugly yet they make fun of the woman's appearance. Even the female hosts who wear thick makeup would go tsk tsk like wtf did you not see that thick paint on your face. Tsk simisai (lit: what the shit). Or when it comes to tricking others with boob enlargement methods, the male hosts would also be highly involved like wtf, go away. It's super uncomfortable to see straight men helping women that way. I hate this kind of silly Chinese culture. And you wonder why many East Asian ra

Review: Yew’s Cafe @ Senibong Cove, Masai, Johor

I heard the spaghetti here is good so we made a visit to Senibong Cove. The restaurant has a cozy and joyful atmosphere due to Christmas season. I ordered prawn spaghetti and chicken wings. The prawn spaghetti was delicious. The key to a good spaghetti is tons of garlic snd this spaghetti has it. The prawn shell was difficult to peel off as it sticked to closely to the skin. Anyone knows why certain prawns are more difficult to peel? I heard it was due to them bring frozen and not fresh. I forgot to take a picture of the chicken wings. They were too salty so I don’t recommend it. Go for the spaghetti and forget the chicken wings.

Review: Kuu by Tea Garden @ Aeon Tebrau City, Johor Bahru Part 2

So I had visited Kuu by Tea Garden before ( Read Part 1 here ), and this time I decided to visit it again for the egg tarts and also the mee rebus. The mee rebus was okay. It wasn’t spicy at all and it would definitely taste better with some cili padi thrown into it. It definitely isn’t as good as the ones you can find at Malay stalls and restaurants. It isn’t bad though and it is something I would order again.

Review: The Substitutes @ Taman Dataran Larkin, Johor Bahru

I found this cafe when I was nearby and looking at Google to see if there are any good cafes nearby. The Substitutes came highly rated so we decided to check it out. The cafe screams HIPSTER which is still a budding trend in JB. The waiter was really polite and we ordered mudpie and chicken chop. The mudpie came first. It is the usual practice to ask if we would like to have our desserts to be served now or after meals but we weren’t asked that. Nevertheless, having the dessert now was what we wanted because the dessert was mainly for me while the chicken chop was mainly for my boyfriend. The mudpie looked like a cake but it wasn’t. The base was made out of chocolate biscuits and some icy layer. It was then topped with ice cream and 2 biscuits filled with pineapple jam if I was not mistaken. Chocolate sauce was also drizzled on the plate. Overall, it was good enough to satisfy my cravings for a dessert. I don’t know if it was intentional but the chicken chop was burnt on

Review: Sizzling Stonegrill @ Aeon Tebrau City, Johor Bahru

Sizzling Stonegrill is a place where you can grill meat on a hot stone. I ordered Beef Tenderloin Steak which is priced at RM42.90 and you can choose 2 side orders. The prices of the side orders are listed and some are at least 2x the price of other side dishes so you can choose the most expensive side orders to make your money worth lol. It was my treat so I let my boyfriend chose the side orders and he chose mashed potatos and french fries. Two potato side dishes wtf. Since it is DIY, you can cook the beef up to the level of rawness you like. I have mine cooked well done, which means fully cooked because I had a stomachache yesterday and don’t want to risk getting another one today. While the beef was cooking, I tasted the mashed potatoes first. I didn’t like it. It had a slight soapy aroma which doesn’t exactly make me felt like eating soap. Rather, I suspect the soapiness was from certain herbs or spices. The gravy was black pepper-based which helped to mask that soapines

Review: Todak Seafood Restaurant (Orang Asli) @ Teluk Jawa, Masai, Johor

Todak Seafood Restaurant is arguably the most popular seafood restaurant in Johor Bahru as the food is supposedly good and affordable. Tons of Singaporeans would flock to this restaurant and it is recommended to come before 7 pm so you wouldn’t have to wait for so long. Todak Restaurant is always very packed and you would have to stand near the table of the patrons whom you think would be leaving soon so you can book that table. Come in a huge group and give the patrons who are eating (preferably a small group like a couple) an intense stare to pressure them to leave quicker lol. After we got a table, we ordered Teo Chew steamed fish, lala with spring onion and ginger, and the highly recommended curry prawns. We also ordered bo li seng (iceberg lettuce) vegetables which wasn’t photographed because who cares about vegetables at a seafood restaurant. The steamed fish came in a huge plate. The fish was fresh but the broth wasn’t great as it was a tad plain. We would prefer it to

Review: Drip Loft (Vape Cafe) @ Bangsar Baru, Kuala Lumpur

Drip Loft is the place to go if you love coffee and vaping. I don't care about vaping as I'm here for the food. The way to my heart s through my stomach and not my lungs. Hearing the word vape actually makes me cringe as I hate anything bad to my health caused by others such as smoking and vaping. And no, I don't want to hear your excuses on how vaping is not unhealthy. I ordered the croissant and the presentation is magnificent. However, it tastes soooo average. This is overpriced croissant. I won't come back here anymore unless some friends ask me to die die hang out at this place. It's really not worth it unless you are here for the vaping and environment, and want to enjoy some snacks.
