Review: HELLO! by Kitchen Mafia @ Happy Mansion, Section 17, Petaling Jaya

HELLO! by Kitchen Mafia is owned by 2 well-known Malaysian chefs Johnny Fua & Sherson Lian. I actually had not heard of them prior to knowing the existence of Kitchen Mafia as I had not been in tune with the entertainment news in Malaysia but apparently those chefs are really popular here and that one of them is a celebrity chef. The food at HELLO! by Kitchen Mafia is a fusion of East meet West, and you will be able to see many original ideas here. If you want to try unique food you can't find anywhere else, HELLO! by Kitchen Mafia is one cafe you should explore. I ordered the Beef Ragout Pasta because I have no idea what ragout means. Yes, I'm adventurous like that so you can easily fool me into ordering things but giving them strange names that don't sound obviously made up. The beef pasta costs RM28. Beef is always a hit or miss to me because some beef has a strong unpleasant smell. It was risky for me to order beef pasta but I took the risk because since thi

Review: Patissez @ SS21 Damansara Uptown, Petaling Jaya

I have seen people posting about Patissez before so I decided to test it out. Their Freakshakes seem to be their star product. I have visited Pattisez a few times to try out a few of their Freakshakes. I would recommend you to share the Freakshake instead of gulping the whole thing by yourself because it is quite huge. Each Freakshake costs RM19 but they also have Baby Freakshakes which cost RM12 each. The picture above is the Freakshake called Muddy Pat 2.0 which is basically chocolate everything. To be honest, none of their Freakshakes are amazingly good for me. It's just something I would eat for fun but won't crave for it. Anothe flavour of Freakshake that I had also tried was Pretzella, a Nutella-based milkshake. I slightly prefer this over the Muddy Pat 2.0. Mint Condition is a mint-flavored Freakshake. It isn't for everyone as it kinda feels like eating toothpaste after a while. The Crispy Skin Sea Bass is one of the recommended items on the menu. I

Review: Uncle Don's @ SS2 Petaling Jaya

I heard that SS2 is a popular area for food, so while food-hunting in this area, I spotted Uncle Don's which is filled with customers. Like a kiasu, I joined the waiting list. There were so many people so sometimes you would have to share a table with others. My boyfriend did not feel comfortable to share a table so we waited longer until there were 2 seats available at the bar area. Upon looking at the menu, I instantly knew why this place was popular. The price of food and drinks are considered low for a cafe. For instance, the price of a glass of Milo is RM2.80 which is comparable to the price at Mamak stalls. Most cafe in Klang Valley would charge you more than RM2.80 for a glass of Milo. The realisation that the popularity of this cafe is attributed to its low price kind of made my heart sank as I was looking for good food and not a bang for the buck. Nevertheless, I still have some hope and ordered Chef Pizza and Babi Asam with rice. Can you believe that this pizza

Review: Two Pesos Taiwan Mini Steamboat @ SS2

My boyfriend told me that SS2 is quite a popular food area so we decided to try Two Pesos as there are many customers queuing up for it.  I have visited Two Pesos at SS2 several times, and most of the time I would order the regular soup (Two Pesos Stone) instead of the fancy ones. This is because I have tried a variety of soup and the regular broth tastes the best to me.  Let's see... I have tried the Milky Seafood broth and the Lemon Seafood broth as well. The Milky Seafood broth is disgusting to me at first sip, while the Lemon Seafood broth is okay. I won't order them anymore. The meat is fresh which is why I don't mind coming here again and again. The most important criteria for a good steamboat is the freshness of its ingredients. The price is affordable and the place is cozy which makes it a great place to hangout with friends and family.

Review: Zeus Thirteen Cafe at Bandar Sunway

So while I was in Subang Jaya, either Facebook or Google told me there were 3 popular cafes nearby. I was in the mood for some Western food, so why not go to this Zeus Thirteen Cafe which was recommended with many good reviews. Upon arriving, there were only like 2 customers so I thought "Shoot! Must be fake reviews again!" Anyhow, I was hungry and since we have already reached the cafe, just try only lah. The area kinda quiet and lack humans anyway so maybe that's one of the reasons this cafe is pretty empty. I ordered grilled chicken salad and breakfast waffle. The breakfast waffle is RM15 but I can't remember how much the grilled chicken costs. You know how some chicken served at cafes would have a kind of smell? I hate those types of tasteless chicken with smell but thankfully, the chicken at Zeus Thirteen Cafe does not have that smell. The chicken is fresh. Really not bad wei! The waffles are quite fragrant too. I love the butter but my boyfriend selfis
