So while I was in Subang Jaya, either Facebook or Google told me there were 3 popular cafes nearby. I was in the mood for some Western food, so why not go to this Zeus Thirteen Cafe which was recommended with many good reviews. Upon arriving, there were only like 2 customers so I thought "Shoot! Must be fake reviews again!" Anyhow, I was hungry and since we have already reached the cafe, just try only lah. The area kinda quiet and lack humans anyway so maybe that's one of the reasons this cafe is pretty empty. I ordered grilled chicken salad and breakfast waffle. The breakfast waffle is RM15 but I can't remember how much the grilled chicken costs. You know how some chicken served at cafes would have a kind of smell? I hate those types of tasteless chicken with smell but thankfully, the chicken at Zeus Thirteen Cafe does not have that smell. The chicken is fresh. Really not bad wei! My skin was very dry so I read that hydradermabrasion facial is really good so I decided to test it out at Serene Aesthetics at Berjaya Times Square. The aesthetician checked my skin with a tool which showed that my skin is dry on the inside and oily on the outside. Besides that, I have a lot of brown spots underneath my skin. Damn it! I use sunscreen every day yet this happens to me. Sometimes I doubt the effectiveness of sunscreen. Sometimes it feels like just a scam. After the facial, I sadly did not see any miraculous results. Skin wasn’t very hydrated unlike other facials like Aster Spring.  I won’t go back here again.

I went for a massage at Amante Nail Spa & Body Care in Berjaya Times Square after purchasing a Groupon deal in 2014. I actually wouldn’t recommend it. The massage was nice and the masseuse was very friendly and chatty (could be a con for some). I actually learned a few interesting tidbits like how the wind or angin from the body would be transferred to the one who massages. So it is kinda unhealthy to be a masseuse. However, the one time the masseuse left the room for a while, she didn’t close the door completely so there’s like a 20 cm gap. It wouldn’t be so bad if this spa is for women only but this is not the case because this spa accepts male customers! I was lying face down naked with the towel slightly below my buttocks so the side of my breasts and the upper buttocks are exposed. I briefly contemplated covering my boobs with my hands and grab the towel to quickly cover me up but if I fail I could risk exposing more bits so I then thought it’s better for me to lie down ...

A few months ago, Bellewave advertised that they have free facials due to their grand opening at Taipan. Of course I signed up for it as I love facials. The representative called me to confirm with me about the free facial and then she contacted me on WhatsApp so we could arrange for a facial appointment.. I asked how long would the free facial session be and she told me it was 2 hours. Woohoo! So I booked an appointment with Bellewave. Upon arriving at the salon, the woman at the counter told me there wasn’t any free facial. I showed her the Whatsapp chat and she insisted there wasn’t any free facial session. She told me that first trial facial would cost RM48. What a waste of time! Why lie if you couldn’t provide the service? RM48 for a first trial is reasonable but I don’t want to pay for it because I had been promised a free facial. I will never go for a facial at Bellewave because if they can lie about this, they could lie about a hell a lot more things. Just imagine...

I had a free facial session by Astalift on my birthday. This is the benefit of being an Astalift member. The free facial session does not include facial extractions though. The facialist was a Chinese woman who was really friendly. She said I could upgrade my facial with a better mask but she didn’t pressure me at all. The facial was relaxing and I fell asleep as usual. After the facial, my boyfriend remarked that my face looked smooth, though not as smooth as after a facial session at Cres Wellness. Even though my face does not look dry, it feels a little tight. My skin is very dehydrated though and could not tolerate many products so perhaps some of the Astalift products used during the facial session is a little drying on my skin.

I have been to Cres Wellness a few years ago and I was happy with the service. Last month, I had another facial at Cres and this time I had it done at the Taipan branch. The treatment I went for was the Toucher Hydro Therapy + Micro Meridian Aromatherapy. The facial was relaxing and I fell asleep during the mask session. My nose is sensitive so I sneezed during the facial extraction on the nose area. This happens almost every time during facial extraction so the fault wasn’t on Cres. However, I would say that the extraction was not very thorough as there were some tiny clogs on my chin which were not extracted. The Micro Meridian Aromatherapy basically utilizes a handheld massager and the beautician mainly worked it on my shoulders. It was painful but still bearable. Whenever I go for a massage session, the masseuse would always work on my shoulders because according to them, I have a lot of ‘wind’ on those area due to modern lifestyle of using too much computer and cellphone. Sulwhasoo Clarifying Mask is a peel-off mask which functions to clarify, hydrate, purify,  brighten the skin. Usually peel off mask is meant for blackheads, dull and oily skin but this mask is also targeted towards dry skin so dry skin users need not worry. You can use this after cleansing your face or after cleansing and using emulsion on your face. Emulsion means a light lotion, which is common in Japanese and Korean skincare routines. Using the mask after applying emulsion is recommended as it will be gentler to the skin when you peel off the mask. The mask is very sticky and is in a dark brown color. The texture is quite like honey. It takes quite a long time to dry, which is about 30 minutes. After peeling of the mask, my skin look smoother and glowing. It is not painful to peel off the mask unlike some peel off masks. You don't need to wash your face after removing this mask but continue with your skincare routine such as applying moisturizer and eye cream.
